Harbour Hill is a large and attractive four bedroom detached house 150 metres from the sandy beach at Gorran Haven. Brilliant for family get togethers or friends. It is a very versatile house suitable for small or larger groups.
It has WiFi, parking for 2 or 3 cars, a large enclosed garden, large deck. At the front there is a sunny patio with sun loungers and the deck has outdoor dining furniture. The lawn is ideal for badminton.
Harbour Hill is quietly situated off a private lane a short (3 minutes) walk to the sandy beach. This is a good property for families, coast path walkers and anyone who prefers everything on one level. It has the big advantage of parking, which in the older part of the village, is hard to come by. Spacious and practical house that works well for various different age groups. Ideal for families or friends. During the non-peak season or last minute, smaller groups using part of the house for reduced rates are very welcome.
There are ground floor bedrooms and bathrooms suitable for anyone not wishing to climb stairs. One family could be upstairs with another downstairs. There are 5 wcs in total & 3 bathrooms.
The garden is enclosed and can be easily monitored from the deck or kitchen - good for small children.
It has a lovely light aspect throughout. It has been entirely refurbished. It is also good for just sitting on the deck doing nothing, reading, socialising. The landing tv room has a huge picture window overlooking the garden, cliffs and village - a lovely place to sit and relax.
The house and garden have sea views and the beach and cliff path are less than 150 metres from the door.
The living area is one large space, with kitchen, dining area and sitting room with french doors opening on two sides of the house, making the deck, garden and patio easily accessible.
There is a fast track route for the sandy and salty returning from the beach, straight to the tiled shower area at one end of the house next to the utility room.
Flooring is engineered wood except in the bedrooms where there is fitted carpet. The oil fired boiler supplies central heating and constant hot water. There is a log burner in the living room.
The driveway to Harbour Hill is about 80 yards up Foxhole lane on the right. In front of the house there is a tarmac parking area.
At the front a sandstone patio attracts sun all day long and has outdoor seating and two sun loungers.
A walkway along the side of the house, leads to 45’ level lawned garden fenced all around - good for football and badminton.
There is a smart raised deck joined to the house (accessed from house by French doors) with glazed screening, outdoor dining furniture and BBQ. There’s a pleasant view of the sea from deck and lawn.
Front door opens to entrance lobby with coat hooks.

Sitting room with dining area:
Two leather sofas, rug, 28” TV, DVD, fireplace; dining table and chairs. This is a large light room with windows onto front and back of the house. French doors open from both sides onto deck and garden and front patio.
The kitchen is open plan, divided from the dining area by a breakfast bar. There is a nice sea view from the window which also looks onto the garden. There is a dishwasher, microwave, electric hob, oven, and larder fridge. There is a second fridge freezer in the utility room.
Hallway: with fitted cupboards (vacuum cleaner, iron and ironing boards etc.) Staircase up to further bedrooms and second tv area.
Downstairs family bathroom: with bath, pedestal sink and wc. There is an electric shower over bath.
Double Bedroom: with window looking onto garden and sideways to the sea.
Twin bedroom: with 3’ twin beds overlooking patio.
Beach Shower room & separate wc: at one end of the house, this convenient area has its own entrance and is next to the utility room. A door leads into the main house. It is an ideal first stop for sandy wet-suited children, there's a tiled floor and clothes rails.
Utility room: with doors to garden & main house. There is a fridge freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, sink, picnic gear etc.
The stairs lead up front the living area downstairs to a large landing with a comfortable tv viewing area. The whole rear wall is glazed and overlooks the garden, village and sea view beyond.
The master bedroom has a kingsize bed and en suite bathroom. There are two windows, making this a lovely light space.
En suite bathroom with bath, shower cubicle, wc, sink. Two velux windows.
Upstairs twin (or second kingsize) bedroom with 3 foot zip twin together beds which can be arranged as a super kingsize bed if required.
This also has an ensuite wc.
Harbour Hill is at the end of a short private driveway off Foxhole Lane - the quiet hill that leads down to the beach on the south side of the village. Foxhole Lane borders the National Trust land and its nature reserve around Dodman Point.
As with all our properties, linen and towels are provided and electricity is inclusive. A cot and highchair are also available in the property. Please bring your own beach towels and baby bedding.
Harbour Hill also has a folding single bed if required for an extra child (£30 supplement).

HOW TO FIND US
Foxhole Lane, Gorran Haven,
St Austell, Cornwall, PL26 6JP
First, get to St Austell, then… From the A390 in St. Austell (A390 is main Truro-Liskeard road) take the B3273 to Mevagissey (at the ‘B&Q’ / Mac Donald’s roundabout).
After one mile is the small village of London Apprentice; a further mile or so, the village of Pentewan. At Pentewan the B3273 ascends a long winding hill overlooking the sea on the left.
Turn right at the cross-roads at the apex of the hill, following signs to the Lost Gardens of Heligan and Gorran Haven.
The alternative route to Gorran Haven, through Mevagissey is not recommended in Summer as there are often lengthy traffic queues in the narrow streets. If you have a Satellite Navigation System it will try to urge you through Mevagissey, but this is folly unless you are in a very saintly and calm state.
Assuming you turn right, then: You will pass Heligan Gardens after crossing a narrow bridge and negotiating a sharp left hand bend. Follow the road for about five miles to Gorran Churchtown – church is on the left – down and up a dip and around another sharpish left hand turn. A couple of hundred yards along is the right hand turn to Gorran Haven (sign-posted).
The road into Gorran Haven descends a long hill (Bell Hill) past a triangle of green with a telephone box. Continue on as road winds through the village towards the sea. The road gets narrower and narrower. Past the car park field on the left, you then come to a cluster of little shops with the sea in view at the end of the road. When almost at the sea, turn sharp right on to Foxhole Lane (sign in front of you), basically making a U-turn up the hill (rather tight).
Harbour Hill is at the end of a short driveway, the first turning on the right, up Foxhole Lane.
The entrance to Harbour Hill is about 70 yards up on the right, just before it, you pass a pair of Victorian semi-detached houses on the right, (one is Hillside).
There’s parking for 2 cars outside the house.
From the turn on to the B3273 in St. Austell to Gorran Haven should take about 25 minutes.

The house will be ready by 4pm and there is a keysafe near the front door, we will contact you before to your arrival to let you know updated code for it.
