Pengarth is just off Foxhole Lane in Gorran Haven and it is conveniently placed between the holiday houses Hillside and Harbour Hill, so it could be a lovely quiet retreat for grand parents on holiday with a family group, but equally would suit independant guests. A good place from which to explore the beautiful scenery of the Coastal Path which begins 50 metres away..

It has a large Livingroom with modern fitted kitchen at one end, full size dining table and seating for four in the middle and comfortable sittingroom area at the far end overlooking the garden. The bedroom can be arranged to your prefererence - with either a kingsize bed or twins. There is an ensuite showeroom.

The main room and the bedroom have wood laminate flooring and everything has been recently refurbished to a high standard in a contemporary style. It has a large tv and also Wifi. Pengarth is well insulated and has double glazing and central heating so is a comfortable place to stay in all seasons.

Apartment Layout

Pengarth has a private driveway off Foxhole Lane and it is possible to park by the front door.

Pengarth House is a large modern bungalow which is divided into two separate dwellings. The seaward end is Pengarth Holiday Apartment and has sole use of the large lawned garden behind. There is parking by the front door.

At the entrance, there is a south facing conservatory with wicker chairs. A pleasant place to relax with fushia hedge to the side.

From the sunroom the inner front door opens into the kitchen area which has fitted units, a fullsize fridge freezer, a dishwasher, fitted electric double oven and grill, electric ho, microwave and all the usual kitchen equipment.

Through a large archway is the wooden dining table with four leather dining chairs and sideboard opposite.

Beyond this there is a comfortable four seater leather sofa and coffee table and rug arranged conveniently for watching the (32 inch flat screen) tv or for looking at the garden through the large window beyond. There is a dvd player and also Freeview box.

The bedroom opens from the sitting area and has a large window to the front of the house, letting in lots of light. The bed has the option of being made up as either a kingsize or as twin beds according to requirement. There is a large fitted wardrobe with sliding mirrored doors and large window to the front of the house.

The en suite shower room has a glass shower cubicle with good quality electric shower. There is also WC and pedestal sink. Walls are tiled, vinyl flooring.

The other half of Pengarth house is occupied by the owners who enjoy their own separate garden and parking area.

The Garden and Beach access

The garden is reached by a paved level pathway along the side of the house. There is a large lawn with patio area next to the house and attractive summer house in one corner positioned to catch a view of the sea. There are outside chairs and table for garden dining or relaxing.

From the house it's possible to be on the cliffpath or the beach withina few minutes. At least on the way down! Uphill might take slightly longer!

Location

Gorran Haven is a cheerful and friendly small village half way down the south coast of Cornwall. It is very much appreciated for its two sandy beaches and small harbour with quay. In summer the beaches team with families enjoying the sea, stream and rock pools. In winter it has an entirely different aspect, much quieter and sometimes wild and stormy. All year the scenery is truely lovely.

There is a single main shop - Cakebread's - which is open all year and is the mainstay of the village being the bakers, grocery, off licence, newsagent and post office and run by the ever smiling Barbara Noott. Great pasties, friendly staff and well stocked shelves.

In season there are several other shops: a fish and chip shop and a beach cafe, a small cafe restaurant and the newly refurbished Llawnroc hotel and bar, which also has a first class restaurant. In Gorran Churchtown- a mile inland- the Barley Sheaf pub (also recently refurbished) is a lovely Georgean building sensatively brought up to date. It has a pleasant garden, comfy bar and home cooked meals as well as pasties and pints of good local St Austell ales.

The Lost Gardens of Heligan are 6 miles away and the Eden Project is about 10. Both are perennial favourites with visitors and locals.
