Doubtnot, Foxhole Lane, Gorran Haven

Doubtnot is the bright pink bungalow on the hill behind the beach at Gorran Haven. It is 120 paces from the sand and has large picture windows that capture a lovely view of the sea and cliffs. It is a comfortable, well loved family house, with parking and garden. Very convenient for cliff path walks and a well behaved dog is welcome to come and stay too.

Doubtnot is in a quiet location off Foxhole lane on a small private drive (next-door to Harbour Hill).

It is a good sized, three bedroom, family bungalow with a nice undulating lawned garden (enclosed on 3 sides) and patio. Unusually, for the heart of the village, it also has ample parking for two cars. There's a phone and wifi.

Location

This side of the village is very convenient for the lovely walks along the National Trust headland, the Dodman and beyond. From the front door to the start of the cliff path is a quick nip with dog on lead or fishing rod under arm.

Layout

Outside: off the lane, in front of the house, there is a good sized parking area where with skill you might park 3 cars, but easily two. The house is elevated on a grassy slope, reached up a short flight of steps with a rail.

A path leads around the side of the house to the main entrance. In this quiet area there is a bench - a lovely sunny spot for morning coffee. The BBQ is also stored here.

The front door opens onto the hallway in the centre of the house from which lead all the rooms. There is a cabinet with local maps and leaflets and a built in cupboard for the vacuum, ironing board and coats.

The kitchen is a good size and has white fitted units and a white amtico tiled floor. It is well equipped with a double fan oven, fridge freezer, microwave, ceramic electric hob, extractor fan. Plenty of chinaware and utensils etc. There are two windows looking onto the garden.

The back door opens from the kitchen onto the rear lawn and the path around the house to the patio at the side, with table and chairs and which overlooks the sea.

There is a separate utility room containing washer/dryer machine and a second fridge. The utility room has its own entrance and is a good place to store wet suits or surf boards and there are buckets and spades etc. to borrow.

The sittingroom has two large windows and a lovely view of the cliffs and sea. It has a large sofa and armchairs at one end and an extending dining table (seating six) at the other. Sideboard and 26 inch flat screen TV and DVD player. Also a spare drop leaf table, useful for half finished jigsaws!

The family bathroom has bath with electric shower over, wc and basin. Wall heater, vinyl flooring.

The main bedroom is at the front with another large window and lovely clear sea view, (being elevated the house is not overlooked by neighbouring houses). There is a kingsized bed, fitted wardrobe, dressing table and bedside tables.

The en suite bathroom has a cushioned vinyl floor and an apricot coloured bathroom suite. Bath with electric shower over, wc and vanity basin. Large mirrors on two walls. Electric heated towel rail and wall fan heater.

The twin bedroom also at the front, (between main bedroom and sittingroom) has a pair of high, 3ft divan beds and fitted wardrobe. Small TV with video. Airing cupboard and electric heated towel rail. Window with sea view.

The third bedroom has very sturdy 3ft wide pine bunks, chest of drawers, wardrobe and a window looking onto the side garden.

General: The house has fitted carpets throughout and is double glazed. It is has electric night storage heaters, back-up oil filled electric heaters and immersion heaters for water.

The garden is a continuous undulating lawn on 3 sides of the house surrounded by tall shrubs that screen it from the three neighbouring houses (which are not particularly close). The garden is enclosed on 3 sides with the front, unfenced side, sloping down towards the parking area. The garden should be fine for all but very determined escapee children and dogs. The neighbouring lane is very quiet.
