Cottage Layout

You'll get to the cottage from a gravelled parking area from which there are just a few steps to a large slate terrace with outside dining furniture and barbeque. The front door opens into the living room where there is a lounge area with 2 sofas on one side, and a dining area with table and chairs on the other side.

The kitchen is a good size with everything you need during your holiday, including cooker with ceramic hob, fridge-freezer, microwave, good quality cooking equipment, and washing machine. There's a large window looking towards the garden, which lets in lots of light and there's a small breakfast table and 2 chairs. From the kitchen there's a passageway to the back door and downstairs toilet.

Upstairs there is 1 king bedroom and 1 double bedroom to the front of the house, both with hanging spaces and drawers/shelves. There's a modern shower room at the back, with a great quality electric shower (up one step with hand rail).

Pass through the door to the next flight of stairs and you'll come to the loft space converted into a lovely bright twin bedroom. There are four velux windows with blinds, two to the front of the house providing breath taking panoramic sea views.

The back garden, accessed by some fairly steep steps, is another great spot for you to sun-bathe in. There's also a clothes line in the garden.

Getting to the beach.....

There are tw o sandy beaches, just 3 and 5 minutes walk from the front door! The harbour and beach is straight down Church Road and the other, sometimes secluded beach, is accessed by steep steps only during high tide and accessible from the harbour beach at low tide.

You can just see the cottage peeping over the cliff.....and Early-birds can watch glorious sun rises over the sea, even from your bed!

Location

Gorran Haven is a cheerful and friendly small village half way down the south coast of Cornwall. It is very much appreciated for its two sandy beaches and small harbour with quay. In summer the beaches team with families enjoying the sea, stream and rock pools.

There is a single main shop - Cakebread's - which is open all year and is the mainstay of the village being the bakers, grocery, off licence, newsagent and post office and run by the ever smiling Barbara Noott. Great pasties.

In season there are several other shops: a fish and chip shop and a beach cafe, a small cafe restaurant and soon the newly refurbished Llawnroc hotel and bar. In Gorran Churchtown- a mile inland- the Barley Sheaf pub has a pleasant garden, comfy bar and home cooked meals as well as pasties and pints of good local St Austell ales.
